Effete
Effete is a metropolitan titling typeface, similar in weight and proportion to fonts like Imre Reiner’s Corvinus, but both more expressive and less goofy. Effete conveys a sense of quality and authenticity. There is a real dearth of contemporary condensed serif typefaces that are appropriate for architectural signage, branding initiatives and conveying a sense of ‘sexy seriousness’. Effete’s design was undertaken with these end uses in mind – swash elements intimate the bedroom while solid terminals and hybrid Egyptian/slab serifs convey quality and authenticity.
