Magik Wanda
Magik Wanda is a distinctive calligraphic typeface designed by Martha Sue Coursey of That's Weirdo Stuff. Originating from hand-lettered inky drawings made with a Speedball Series B nib, the typeface draws inspiration from Vienna Secession lettering (especially Berthold Löeffler), the illustration and lettering in Wanda Gág's 1920s children's books, and Martha's signature style. The light weight maintains a round ink pen appearance, while heavier weights develop high contrast reminiscent of Art Deco type. A variable weight axis allows for continuous stylistic control, creating anything from hand-lettered warmth to refined elegance. Perfect for food packaging, beauty products, restaurant branding, cookbooks, and publishing.
