Giambattista Bodoni

Italian typographer, type designer, and printer who served as director of the Stamperia Reale in Parma from 1768 until his death. He pioneered the 'Modern' style of typeface design, characterized by strong contrast between thick and thin strokes, and elevated Parma to the world capital of printing in the late 18th century.
