Marian

Conceived by Paul Barnes as 'part history lesson, part conceptual art, and part loving tribute to the great punchcutters of the past,' Marian revives nine serif styles from the typographic canon spanning nearly two and a half centuries, from 16th-century Renaissance to early 19th-century Scotch Roman. The series strips letterforms down to skeletal hairline structures, revealing the underlying bone structure of works by Austin, Baskerville, Bodoni, Fournier, Fleischman, Garamont, Granjon, Kis, and van den Keere.
