Fred Smeijers

Dutch type designer, researcher, educator, and author based in Arnhem. A first-generation digital type designer, he created FF Quadraat (1992) and co-founded OurType. His extensive body of work includes Arnhem, Fresco, Sansa, and Nobel. Author of 'Counterpunch' (Hyphen Press). Awarded the Gerrit Noordzij Prize (2001) and the SOTA Typography Award (2016).
