DaVinci

DaVinci is an elegant serif typeface designed by Virgile Flores, rooted in historical typography yet executed with contemporary sensibility. The family is based on a revival of a Garamond cut discovered in an old book, interpreted with organic forms and sophisticated proportions. Originally released in June 2020 with three styles (Display, Text, and Italic), the typeface has been systematically expanded to seven upright weights plus a coordinated Italic as of April 2024. The design was refined through collaboration with Zolo Press and Base Design for Sydney's Biennale, where the theme of 'water and fluidity' inspired the graceful, flowing italic forms. Perfect for editorial design, luxury branding, and sophisticated publication work.
