Foundry Æterna

Foundry Æterna is an expansive neo-grotesk typeface that rejects revival or facsimile approaches in favor of a decisive, thoughtful interpretation of how a neo-grotesk should function in modern typography. Designed by David Quay and Stuart de Rozario, its name derives from the Latin word for eternal. The typeface features distinctive subtly extended terminals on 'a, c, g, s' letterforms and horizontal shaping on 'a, f, j, t, y'. With a spacious internal structure, large x-height relative to capitals, and compact spacing, Foundry Æterna provides a calm, readable experience suitable for both text and display applications. A comprehensive symbol set of over 290 meticulously designed icons and symbols (built to capital height) supports diverse applications from transport systems to user interfaces, information design, and wayfinding.
