Kopyme
KOPYME is a brutalist display typeface with monospaced, monolinear characters in extra-wide proportions. Channeling a Swiss lettering tradition dating to Walter Käch's work in the 1930s-1940s and materialized in Max Miedinger's Haas Horizontal typeface, KOPYME introduces disturbingly top-heavy shapes with angular terminals. The emphasis on extended horizontals is offset by diagonals shooting across the glyph space like laser beams, crashing through baselines and extending the underlying grid by a fourth underground level to add kinetic energy. Released November 2019 in Swiss Typefaces' experimental Lab section.
