Skolar Sans Hebrew

We developed Skolar Sans to accommodate contemporary typographers and the challenges they confront: an ever-changing spectrum of outputs and devices, in which serious typography can get lost. Skolar Sans is designed for comfortable reading and engineered to cope with complex editorial texts and data-rich interfaces. Skolar Sans Hebrew, designed by Eran Ben Barak, brings this adaptability to the Hebrew script. Through a systematic grouping of the letterforms, he achieved a consistent rhythm that helps to retain the conventional forms and natural proportions of the Hebrew script while matching the density of the Latin counterpart. The result is a contemporary low-contrast family tuned for legibility, spanning a range of weights and italic styles. Extra attention was given to the small bits: the nikud marks and the Latin-script punctuation that was adapted to fit the Hebrew script. More adventurous typographers will appreciate the alternative letter mem in the italic styles.
