Yamantaka
Yamantaka was originally designed in 2015 for a documentary exploring cultural perspectives on death. The first iteration rejected rigid typographic structures, embracing irregularity and organic forms. In a landscape dominated by pristine, precision-driven fonts, Yamantaka stands apart—its distinct character balancing contemporary refinement with historical resonance. As the design evolved, the need for a broader character set led to extensive experimentation, expanding the letterforms and reshaping the type’s overall texture. This introduced a sense of grandeur and weight, making even concise text feel more substantial and memorable. The result is a typeface with a quiet confidence.
