A. Octobre
A. Octobre is an experimental stencil display typeface named after the Festival Octobre en Normandie. Based on an agglomeration of pixel-like squares and a low-resolution bitmap aesthetic evoking early computer graphics, the letterforms are designed as solid bricks with missing parts that suggest stencil letters. Created during Apeloig's 1993-94 residency at Villa Medici in Rome, the typeface captures the festival's spirit of dance and music through its distinctive blocky, modular construction.
