From the foundry
Quatern is an original type family in three optical sizes — Small, Text, and Display — drawing on Renaissance roman models with forms balancing clarity and warmth, a steady rhythm, and subtle contrast suited to extended reading. The Display styles increase contrast and openness without losing structural integrity; the smaller sizes emphasize texture and durability in continuous text. The Italic follows a chancery tradition with decorated ascenders and descenders giving a more expressive, historically inflected option when the setting calls for it.
