Summerford
Summerford is a comprehensive typographic system originally designed for Bon Appétit magazine. The typeface surveys the greatest hits of the phototype era through its expansive range of weights and widths. Drawing inspiration from classic American and European typefaces including ITC Garamond, Caslon Graphique, American Typewriter, and Souvenir, Summerford creates a visual bridge between mid-20th century design sensibilities and contemporary use. The system encompasses everything from elegant text weights to distinctive display weights, with extreme variations capturing the technical geometries of American Typewriter and the rounded charm of Souvenir. Summerford is available as a beta typeface from MCKL.
