From the foundry
A comprehensive superfamily released in 2004 as one of FontShop's first OpenType font families. Nexus marks a significant development in Martin Majoor's type design philosophy, changing from the two-typeface principle to the three-typeface principle. The family consists of Nexus Serif (starting point), Nexus Sans (derived from the serif), Nexus Mix (a slab-serif between serif and sans), and Nexus Typewriter (a monospaced variant). Nexus Typewriter includes old style figures, real italics, and a bold italic, making it a useful corporate typeface. The complete Nexus family won the first prize at the Creative Review Type Design Awards in 2006 in the category Text Families.
