Boucan explores the relationship between type and sound, with the name derived from the French word for very loud noise. As a variable font, it can be animated to react to sounds and music, making it an interactive and dynamic design tool. Using OpenType substitution features (calt), the typeface creates alternative letter shapes that produce either unique or checkered visual effects depending on activation, designed for applications requiring maximum visual impact and striking graphic presence.
