Oaks
Oaks is a display typeface with a friendly attitude and distinctive character, designed by Kel Troughton. Originally developed during a school project at Type@Cooper West in 2018, Oaks draws from the rich sign painting traditions of the late 1800s, with particular influence from showcard lettering masters like Ross F. George and E. C. Matthews. The typeface features characteristic stem flares tailored for vintage wall signs, making it ideal for posters, branding, and display applications. Since its initial release in February 2019 via Future Fonts, Oaks has evolved to include additional widths, accented glyphs, and refined letterforms.
