Citywide
Citywide is a comprehensive sans-serif family inspired by mid-1900s bus and train destination roll signs. Jason Santa Maria discovered the original letterforms on a sign at a flea market years ago, prompting years of careful reinterpretation and systematization. The family comprises 50 static fonts and 1 variable font, with five widths (Condensed to ExtraWide) and five weights (Light to Bold), plus italics. Currently caps-only with plans to add lowercase in the future. The design balances authentic vintage character with contemporary usability through careful attention to cross strokes, corner radii, and counter forms.
