Hefring Slab Variable
Hefring Slab is a robust geometric slab serif based on simple geometric forms with minimal stroke contrast, solid serif presence, and uniform stroke thickness. Inspired by the pioneering work of Margaret Vivienne Calvert, Hefring Slab combines clarity and functionality with contemporary design sensibilities. The variable version provides complete control over both weight and width parameters, enabling smooth interpolation across the entire design space. Originally developed for The Northern Block and later moved to Mariya Lish's Inhouse Type label in 2023, the typeface features opentype characteristics including alternative characters, arrows, tabular figures, ligatures, and fractions. Available in Roman and Italic with extensive language support.
