Messer

Messer is a contemporary interpretation of Weiss Antiqua, originally designed by Emil Rudolf Weiß in 1928. This refined revival maintains the distinctive characteristics of the original—including the unique upside-down s and S, along with similar design treatments in z, ß, 6, and 9—while introducing sharper edges and simplified italic stroke endings. Released in three weights (Light, Regular, Bold) with matching italics. The December 2021 update significantly enhanced the typeface with increased contrast and refined proportions. Messer is suited for display and editorial use where sophisticated historical references meet contemporary precision.
