HLC Metra
HLC Metra seamlessly merges the boundaries between two iconic typographic archetypes known as 'Grotesk' and 'Geometric', establishing its DNA predominantly within these two genres. Originating as an extension of Hugo Le Corre's thesis at ECAL titled 'Typographic Survivals: The Diachronic Evolution of Typographic Forms', HLC Metra was conceived as a 'mixed-breed' typeface, assimilating distinctive shapes from both worlds into a singular typeface. Drawing inspiration from Akzidenz Grotesk, Neue Haas Grotesk and Twentieth Century, its harmonious proportions and flowing rhythm evoke a seamless and modern sensibility, tailored for contemporary usage.
