Malamocco
Malamocco is a sans serif typeface inspired by vernacular typography. Its origins are found in signs in Venice, Italy but many other places also infused their own aesthetics. The letters of Malamocco seek the simple efficiency of street signs: the originality of varying forms, the attractive inconsistencies and the design shortcuts. Its low x-height gives it an elegant feeling when used in small sizes. When used with simplicity, its singular color reveals itself. Malamocco’s roundness and loose spacing could make it the perfect fit as well in a fashion editorial as in a children’s book.
