Merlo Original
Merlo Original is a contemporary reinterpretation of the eighteenth-century typefaces once distributed by Domingo Merlo in Madrid. Available in four weights with matching italics and featuring an extended glyph set carefully optimized for text composition, Merlo Original blends historical inspiration with modern functionality. Domingo Merlo was a type founder rather than punch-cutter, meaning his typefaces were produced elsewhere, making Merlo Original only partially a Spanish revival. Notably, Merlo is one of two Feliciano typefaces used in the Portuguese passport and national identity card.
