Variex
Variex is a sans-serif typeface published by Emigre in 1988, designed by Rudy VanderLans and Zuzana Licko. It comes in 3 weights, from Light to Bold. It is one of 80 typefaces from Emigre in the Type.lol catalog, 17 of them sans-serif.
From the foundry
Variex derives its weights from uniform centre-line strokes. Changes in stroke thickness intentionally alter character alignment and x-height across the family.
