Marlfield
Marlfield is a display typeface with condensed proportions and assertive shapes, originally designed for editorial use on magazine covers and headlines. Its structure draws on early 20th-century press typefaces such as Plantin, Perpetua and Times New Roman, reinterpreted with strong contrast, a high x-height, shortened ascenders and descenders, and tight spacing. First drawn in a single Bold weight, it grew into a family of four styles, adding a Regular serif and two entirely redrawn sans-serif counterparts that echo French typefaces of the 1930s to 1950s.
