Siryous
A wanna-be monospaced sans-serif with a fresh perspective on the sans-serif genre for the Vietnamese market. Rather than experimenting with just details, Siryous experiments with proportions. The initial concept was sparked by the wide spacing found in old typewriting fonts, particularly from Việt Nam Sử Lược and L'Orage Approche. As a graphic-turned-type designer obsessed with grids and precise alignment, the design draws inspiration from the IBM Selectric Typewriter and Philipp Neumeyer's work on proportional typewriters. Siryous combines unit-based proportional spacing, loveable spacing, horizontal-aligned terminals, modern x-height, and handy & techy alternatives.
