Neue Brücke
Neue Brücke is a neo-grotesk typeface features a quite narrow letterform, released by Due Studio Type in one weight. The design shows a clear geometric construction. 9 stylistic sets mix different letters with fluid blacks, sometimes more rationals and geometrics, others more softs and similar to the standard neo-grotesque typefaces. A dense and solid appearance given also by a tight spacing between letters, ideal for display uses. The name takes up that of the homonymous German avant-garde artists group formed in Dresden in 1905: Die Brücke. One stylistic set is dedicated to a fresh and rigid redesign of the letters engraved by Ernest Ludwig Kirchner in his 'Manifesto of the Brücke Artists' Group (Programm der Künstlergruppe Brücke), a woodcut from 1906. The typeface evolves the old shapes by taking some formal characteristics to the extreme generating a geometric designs based on square grid. Neue Brücke, equipped with 790 glyphs, includes an extended set of OpenType features and support the Latin Extended-A block.
