Schnyder

Originally developed by Berton Hasebe and Christian Schwartz for the 2013 redesign of T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Schnyder is an idiosyncratic fashion Didot in multiple widths. Drawing inspiration from Romana and similar Beaux Arts serif typefaces of the late 19th century, as well as hand-lettering by Swiss painter Jean-Frederic Schnyder, the family exploits the enormous freedom afforded by the extreme contrast expected in fashion typography to sneak in unexpected shapes.
