Robinson
The first release by Commercial Type staff designer Greg Gazdowicz, Robinson is a calligraphic sans serif inspired by Warren Chappell's Lydian, Rudolf Koch's Stahl, and R. Hunter Middleton's Samson. Gazdowicz aimed to make a contemporary sans that used hallmarks of calligraphic construction for visual interest without being explicitly calligraphic, resulting in a crisp, refreshing sans with a lively personality evocative of mid-20th-century American book cover lettering.
