Neue Haas Grotesk

Christian Schwartz's meticulous digital restoration of Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann's original 1957 Neue Haas Grotesk, the typeface that was later renamed Helvetica. Originally commissioned in 2004 by Mark Porter at The Guardian and completed in 2010 for Richard Turley's redesign of Bloomberg Businessweek, this revival brings Miedinger's original shapes and spacing back to life with fidelity, correcting the compromises introduced in previous digital releases of Helvetica.
