Darby Sans

A contemporary humanist sans serif by Paul Barnes with Dan Milne, Darby Sans debuted in the September 2013 redesign of Wallpaper* magazine under creative director Sarah Douglas. Rather than following the typical British sans serif model of Gill and Johnston, Darby Sans looks back to the 18th century, following transitional forms found in the typefaces of Baskerville, Fry, and Wilson. Named for the Darby family, famed pioneers of the industrial revolution.
