From the foundry
Sinistre combines the Uncial minuscule, Roman proportions and subtle hints of Fraktur into soft letterforms and sharp terminations. Aiming to revive the Insular Script of the Book of Kells, it borrows inspirations from Gaelic stone carvings, Celtic calligraphy and Elzevir types. Sinistre suits contemporary titling purposes, toeing a line between historical references, newness and loftiness.
