Louvette

Louvette is a sharp, stylish modern serif typeface developed over fifteen years, beginning with CJ Dunn's revival of Morris Fuller Benton's ATF Louvaine for contemporary use. The typeface evolved into a comprehensive series perfect for any application requiring strong gestures and delicate details, from fashion publications to cultural institutions and exhibition design. Louvette's four optical sizes—Banner (for 72pt+), Display, Text, and Caption—allow flexible typesetting across a 14pt to 96pt+ range. Banner features ultra-thin hairlines with tight spacing, while Text offers thicker hairlines with generous spacing and longer descenders. The design includes researched italics informed by Gerard Unger's Doppel Tertia Cursiv and other historical precedents, making it an ideal choice for editorial design.
