Brumadinho Memorial
A bespoke typeface created by Daniel Sabino of Blackletra for the Brumadinho Memorial, built to honor the 272 people who lost their lives in the 2019 dam disaster in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Commissioned as part of the identity and signage project led by Greco Design for the memorial designed by architect Gustavo Penna, the typeface is inspired by stonecarving. It won a Gold Prize and People's Choice Prize at the Latin American Design Awards 2024 and a Silver Prize at the Brasil Design Awards 2023.
