Realm
Realm is a gracefully flared semi-serif typeface developed since mid-2021, initially as a commissioned project for Elicyon, an interior design consultancy based in London. It takes inspiration from a disparate selection of old English engraved and hand-painted letterforms, merging proportions based on Roman capitals with loops and flourishes borrowed from roundhand calligraphy. The tall x-height and large, open counters make it viable for running text, while its elegant serifs and flourishes excel in headline applications. Version 0.1 (Jan 2024) comprises seven upright weights, with Version 0.7 (Jul 2025) adding italics.
