Villu Toots
Estonian typographer and calligrapher (1916-2012) who was a pioneering figure in Baltic typography and design. Created influential script typefaces and calligraphic works that established an Estonian design tradition. His book 'Tänapäeva kiri' (Contemporary Script, 1956) documented modern script letterforms and became a foundational text for Estonian typography. Toots' work bridged traditional penmanship with modern design principles.
