Sweynheym and Pannartz
Conrad Sweynheym and Arnold Pannartz were 15th-century German printers who brought Gutenberg's movable-type printing press to Italy. Working first at the Abbey of Saint Scholastica in Subiaco and later in Rome, they produced the first books printed in Italy, including pioneering semi-Roman typefaces that broke from the blackletter tradition.
