Sumner Stone

Type designer, type founder, teacher, calligrapher and graphic designer. Studied calligraphy with Lloyd Reynolds at Reed College, worked at Hallmark Cards, and was the first Director of Typography for Adobe Systems, where he conceived and implemented Adobe’s typographic program including the Adobe Originals. Founder of Stone Type Foundry Inc. and author of On Stone and Font: Sumner Stone, Calligraphy and Type Design in a Digital Age.
