Simon de Colines
Simon de Colines was a prominent French printer and typographic innovator of the Renaissance who succeeded Henri Estienne and became one of the most influential typographers of sixteenth-century Paris. He is renowned for refining and improving upon classical Roman typefaces, creating elegant and highly legible designs that set new standards for Renaissance printing. His contributions to typography encompassed both the design and casting of type, as well as the artistic direction of some of the finest printed books of the era.
