Lucien Bernhard

German graphic designer, type designer, and artist who pioneered the Plakatstil (Poster Style) movement. Born Emil Kahn in Stuttgart, he created iconic typefaces and advertising posters before emigrating to New York City in 1923, where he continued working as a designer, painter, and sculptor.
