Louis Oppenheim
Louis Oppenheim (1879–1936) was a graphic artist and type designer in Berlin. Dated work on record includes Lo-Type (Lo-Schrift), Berthold (c. 1914) and Fanfare, Berthold (1927). The Type.lol catalog lists 1 revival of their type. It is published by Canada Type.
Biography
German graphic artist, painter, and type designer (1879-1936) born in Coburg. After studying in London (1899-1906), he moved to Berlin where he became known for his poster work and typeface designs for the Berthold foundry, including Lo-Type and Fanfare. He also designed the first coin of the Weimar Republic in 1919.
