Karol Tchorek

Karol Tchorek (1904–1985) was a Polish sculptor, medalist, and art dealer based in Warsaw. He is known in type circles for designing the plaques commemorating Warsaw's World War II battle and martyrdom sites, which inspired the Nocturne typeface.
