Josef Albers

German-born American artist, educator, and color theorist, best known for his series Homage to the Square and his seminal book Interaction of Color. A Bauhaus professor who later taught at Black Mountain College and Yale University, he designed the Bauhaus Stencil Lettering System (Kombinations-Schrift) in 1926-1928.
