Joan Michaël Fleischman

18th-century German-Dutch typographer and punchcutter whose Baroque-era transitional roman typefaces were praised for their sharp, stylised cutting. His innovative music font was used for the first Dutch banknote, and his work has influenced numerous digital revivals including DTL Fleischmann and Matthew Carter's Fenway.
