Jacques-François Rosart

Belgian type founder and punch-cutter (1714-1777) who established an influential type foundry in Brussels. Created elegant transitional and modern style typefaces that bridged Classical and contemporary sensibilities. Known for his collaboration with Jean-Claude Fleischman and for developing distinctive script and financial typefaces. His foundry produced some of the finest types of the 18th century.
