Herbert Bayer

Austrian-American graphic designer, typographer, painter, and architect who was a student and later instructor at the Bauhaus. Created the Universal typeface (1925), a geometric alphabet that became an icon of modernist design. One of the most influential figures in 20th-century graphic design and typography.
