Hendrik van den Keere
Hendrik van den Keere (also known as Henry van de Velde or Hendrik de Velde) was a Flemish punch cutter and type designer who worked during the Renaissance, creating typefaces that influenced Dutch and European printing for centuries. He was active in Ghent and later in Frankfurt, where he collaborated with other prominent printers and type founders. His elegant roman and italic typefaces became models for later designers, demonstrating sophisticated letterforms that balanced classical proportions with practical functionality.
