German type designer and student of Rudolf Koch at the Klingspor foundry in Offenbach am Main. Studied at the art school in Braunschweig (1929) and the Technical Institute at Offenbach. Designed Andreas Schrift, Kühne Antiqua, Kühne Schrift, and Stahl for Klingspor.
