Georg Trump
German type designer and calligrapher (1896-1985), influential figure in 20th century German typography. Director of the Meisterschule für Deutschlands Buchdrucker in Munich. Created City (1930), an early geometric sans-serif, and Trump Mediaeval (1954), a distinctive Venetian-style text face with strong calligraphic influence. Known for bridging historical calligraphic traditions with modern type design. Received the TDC Medal in 1979.
