Erik Spiekermann
German type designer, information architect, and author. Two of his typefaces, FF Meta and ITC Officina, are considered modern classics. Founded MetaDesign (1979) and FontShop (1988). Designed for brands like Audi, Bosch, VW, German Railways. Honorary Royal Designer for Industry (RSA Britain, 2007), TDC Medal and German National Design Award for Lifetime Achievement (2011). Now runs Hacking Gutenberg, an experimental letterpress workshop in Berlin.
