Christoffel van Dijck

Dutch punch-cutter and type founder (~1601-1669) who played a vital role in the transition from Renaissance to Baroque typography. Created elegant roman and italic typefaces that influenced Dutch printing throughout the 17th century. His types, characterized by their refined proportions and calligraphic qualities, became foundational to the Dutch typographic tradition and were widely revived centuries later.
